Our story begins from a humble family home in Fairway Village, Nakasero. The doors of Jaffer family opened for whoever knocked regardless of their race, religion, social status or Gender. Little did they know that 1969 would present a knock from Vatican and they would offer their Home for a Hotel to Host the Pope for his First visit to the African Continent in History. Fairway Hotel was born in 1969 and was officially launched in February, 1971 by his Highness Agha Khan with 50 operational rooms before it was taken over by Government in 1972 during Uganda’s Economic war that so the expulsion of many families from Uganda and the conversion of Fairway Hotel into Uganda Hotel and Tourism Institute from 1989 to 1991.The return of Jaffer family to Uganda in 1969 has seen the Hotel evolve from, 50 rooms to 100 rooms, 7 conference halls with two beautiful restaurants and Gardens. We stand as a testament to the rich history and bright future of Uganda’s Hospitality and we have continued to define warm African hospitality through our comfortable and affordable accommodation, banqueting and leisure services with upscale amenities. We are Glad to associate with a story that Begins from a Home stead, to 50 rooms, to a School and Now a 3 Star Hotel with 100 rooms. It is no doubt we are the Heritage of Uganda’s Hospitality.
